Hi, I’m Sean
I love what I teach, habits. They define our daily actions, and as such define who we are in so many ways. They are the ultimate expression of "walking the walk." Some of my daily habits are meditation, swimming/biking/running, and journaling.
I grew up in EL Paso, TX where I learned the value of other diverse point of views. My father is my idol and taught me all you need to know in life, be honest, be fair and never sacrifice your integrity...EVER. I received my bachelors in Government and Business from the University of Texas at Austin and after graduation started my first few businesses. During this time I also completed my first triathlon and got 1st place in my age group! I was addicted.
A few years later, I was a passenger in a Jeep rollover and suffered a traumatic brain injury. It forced me to leave work and spend 6 months in rehabilitation and therapy. My mother and father carried me through this dark time and I wouldn’t have gotten through without them. About halfway through the therapy I decided I would get my MBA and am thankful to all the therapists who adjusted my rehab protocols to support this ambitious aim (at the beginning of rehab I couldn’t finish reading a full sentence and still remember the beginning). I took the GMAT, and did surprisingly well! I was accepted to the University of San Diego on a full Deans scholarship.
I got to San Diego and settled down in the birthplace of triathlon. That’s where I finished my MBA, met my wife and had my first child. You can try to make me leave over my dead body. As a traumatic brain injury survivor I firmly believe that each day is a gift, a chance to habit better, grow closer to your fellow humans, do good and have fun! Now... can we go race a triathlon?
